These are comfortable. I've had no issue wearing them all day, and after a few months, the denim part is not showing significant signs of wear. No doubt it would protect me better than a pair of normal jeans or even some competitors' offerings. However, IF I were to go down im not sure how much I'd trust these to hold up through a slide.
First, after only about a week, the hook and loop that holds the knee pads in came clean off and needed to be stitched back on. Not long after that 1 of the only 2 tabs securing the Kevlar lining to the denim shell tore clean at the seam. Finally, the tags show zero information about the rating of the garment itself... Only the pads are rated.
For about $100, these aren't bad. The best part is that I can stay in my work dress code and still have some protection. But for more spirited or longer rides, I plan on wearing something more substantial.
