After working through the almost overwhelming chaps selection on Leatherup, I finally settled on these Milwaukee SH1190 leather chaps which are my first pair. I have a pair of thick leather pants I've been using for about 15 years but age and too many good meals have thickened me up to where those pants are no longer comfortable over my jeans. Last week I wore these new chaps on an all day ride in warm to hot weather and they were great. My legs felt well protected and frankly, they looked darn good too. The leather thickness seemed just right to balance between good protection and unnecessary bulk. This pair has zippered side pockets which are nice but the pockets are really too deep and my wallet ended up way down at my knee. I will have a seamstress remedy that. I ended up cutting off about 2.5' in leg length to get a better fit for my height which is 5'-10'. I weigh about 220 lbs. I wear size 36x32 jeans and ended up getting the XXL chaps which seemed spot-on for me. The back of the waist allows for some adjustment with the included leather rawhide and included an extender piece which I did not use. Bottom line: I dig 'em and have no regrets on this purchase.
